I'm going to make a goped from a little scooter and a weedeater engine but I'm not that familier with weedeater engines.  My question is do they have a clutch in them?  If not, how do people get around that problem?  I was thinking that I could install a centrifigal clutch from a moped or something but that's a little more complicated that I can handle...

Any info on that or any other problem I might run into building it would be great...

they do have a clutch, at least the higher quality bigger displacement units do.  Its a little centrifigal clutch which should be pretty easy to work with.
WTB: Moped in the Portland Oregon area.

Only the bigger ones, I have a 21cc here, no clutch. I also have a 33cc, that has a clutch (and I had it working good on a scooter to, the thing would hit like 35Mph!) Both are weed eater motors, it all depends on what model you buy/find.

i had better luck with a chainsaw motor and my goped goes like 47mph, i would not recommend doing this unless you are really experienced.
