Hey donp, i dunno if you have ever entertained this thought, but why don't we have some kind of Archived forum, in which the threads are still visible, yet no longer able to be posted in unless a user requests that you bring it back?
I mean, one that's like all the way at the bottom, and you can set it up automatically so that threads that have gone (6 months) without a post will go there. This will free up your board ALOT. Also, could we do the same for the members? U can deactivate their account (not delete, deactivate) and require an email to reactivate it. This could also free up space. Just some thoughts, if you like, i could help you with it. CD |

how would that free up space? all the info would still be stored on the same server and it would just make it harder for any one to acess it, especially if they had to send a request to reopen it. and it would discourage members who joined and just want to read posts until something interests them and they want to post on it. who would want to wait on a verification e-mail?
everyone wants access to everything, and they want it now. thats how society is these days. noone wants to wait. if they did, vcr's would still be all the rage and not tivo or dvr. think about it. |
