I have a 70s Honda Z50 bike with 50cc that originally had a 3 speed foot shift auto clutch
transmission . Because of the manual shift operation the state of GA defines my bike as full fledged motorcycle. I plan to stick it in 2nd gear and remove the shifter lever from the transmission thereby making it a single speed bike that cannot be shifted. I have been reading the GA LAW and I cannot find a flaw in my logic here. I will be basically riding a single speed bike that cannot be shifted and that is defined as a moped that does not require a license tag or motorcycle license permit for the driver. In addition I cannot come close to exceeding the 30mph maximum on level ground for mopeds while I am stuck in 2nd gear. I can keep the shifter and a wrench in my pocket for when I need to gain back full function I can just screw the shifter lever back on.. Any other thoughts or comments ?
