So now im a pet owner again, do we get a dog, cat, how bout a hamster...nope we have to be tripy and get a Green Iguana... and here he is..

I have to admit i was leary of geting another mouth to feed (especialy one that will grow to be over 6 feet long with dozens of sharp serrated teeth, O ya and claws.) but after chilling with the little guy for a couple days now, he's pretty cool. And within 2-5 years he's going to be literaly a Monster:) lol, he's still geting used to me, i have to pick him up several times a day to start tameing him and geting used to people, hasnt tryd to bite me yet but i have goten a couple tail lashing. I can imagine what that would feal like comeing from a full grown iguana.

O ya since i was against geting him in the first place, when we "bonded" I demanded the right to name him,( the better half actully let me)
I named him Odd....Odd the Iguana..:) the kids already call him Oddy.

my sister in law had a monkey for the last 12 years. he passed away of old age in oct. i don't miss that disgusting monkey one bit. he bit my wife on the hand and broke a tendon. she had to have surgery to repair it. i told her not to go near that monkey for the simple fact that the thing would pee through the side of it's cage at you.
since the monkey died, they decided to replace it with an alligator of all things. idiots. the 4 family members live in this tiny house, roughly 800 sq ft, with 4 big dogs, and an alligator. i hate going over there because the place stinks worse than a zoo at clean up time.
i have a little calico cat, two gerbils, and two goldfish recently won by my sons at a carnival. thats 4 pets too many for me. i like the cat. she's cool.

I'm cool with a pet thread.

I've got a 7 month old Bullmastiff pup. So far he's only upto about 80# but the vet and breeder are estimating him to top out at about 130#. And even though he intimidates most people, he's a big baby.

A pet thread is fine. More people posting in the Genral Chat forum is better.

I, too, would be mad if a monkey bit my wife.

I'm a dog lover. I have nothing against cats, as long as they have nothing against me. But some cats I have encountered I have hated.

Give me a big, lovable, loyal, and well-trained German Shepherd or Huskie any day.

Monkey's seem that way to me also.

My Iguana is a punk!! I have to pick him up several times a day so he can get used to me and be "domesticated" (since in a couple of years he'll be able to bite my nose off when he wants) its been a few weeks and he still gets p!ssed at me when i pick him up.

But he has chilled out some, he gets this very content look on his face when i pet him, but if i move to fast he trys to whip me lol, iv never thought id say this about a lizard, but the damn thing has a personality.

I think most pets have personality. Mine dogs have polar opposites, though they were both abused (my husky the worst) she still loves people, but can be grumpy around new dogs. My shiba inu is terrified of people but loves all dogs. It's a great big pain in the #@$ to walk them at the same time, because you get pulled in opposite directions constantly.
