And here we go....

Yesterday in my local news, an @ss load of local school closeurs where anounced due to a huge budget deficit.
Now parents are fliping out and protesting over there childs school closeing down...You would think this is a good reason for parents to be mad about wouldnt you....Well WRONG.
And let me explain, last year the school districts practicaly beged for money, a vote was called for a minor tax increase to local residences solely for funding schools.....can U guess what happened, it was shot down buy a massive margin. nobody wanted to pay...
Parents did not want to pay a few dollors more in taxes to educate there children....and now there
b!tching about schools that are BROKE and closeing.
This disgusts me to no end. My community is full of dumb@ss that want nothing better for there kids...
What happened to children being are future, i guess there not worth it when it comes to spending money on school....

Don't have to. I'll say it for him, and I have the right because I have kids in the school system. They spend money on stupid things, then they run out and want us to cover their behind with our money. Private schools are operating for way less, and they actually teach kids instead of wasting their time. But people hear "it's for the children" and they vote for more and more money to be spent.

And yes, I'm for private school vouchers all the way, in case you're wondering.

And shockingly enough(<--- sarcasm) I agree.

School systems have been allowed to run like governments for far too long...schools HAVE funding...they just have people deciding what to do with the money that have no idea what they are doing. Run them like a business instead of a government (license to print more money) and they'll have a surplus.

lovely so as parents what the hell do we do about public school "governments". Where did the money from the "real" government state/federal go? I have a buddy that sends his kids to private for the same reasons most people do, but he pays out the but for it. So whats the answer?

I don't really know the answer...besides...actually making somebody accountable for the money spent in schools instead of letting them squander it.

However, that doesn't really sound like a quick fix.

All I know is, where I live evry year we get a "bare bones" budget that HAS to pass or the world would end, and about 50% of the time it fails and miraculously they come up with a smaller budget. How's that possibel if the first one was already "bare bones"? And I'm in a good town where people actually value their money. Other towns around us just pass whatever the BOE asks for every year, so their property taxes are even highr than mine. Speaking of which, this year I paid more for property taxes than for mortgage interest. That's just insane.

I mean they go from a nine year old killed in a drive by shooting, to acting like goof balls!! The mourning news is way WORSE!!
Are the networks doing this for what? atracting younger crowds, lighting up what is normaly BAD news?
Is this type of "news personalitys" everywhere, or is this a local country redneck phenamena.?

Sorry, Monster, but that picture was taken when she was Megyn Kendall. She is now Megyn Kelly. Although I like how she keeps it Irish.

Kimberly Guilfoyle only looks good in bad light. Up close she kind of creeps me out.

There are better pictures of Laura Ingraham than that. Trust me.

Megyn is definitely the hottest hottie on Fox News.

Anyone here watch http://www.foxnews.com/redeye/ - Red Eye w/ Greg Gutfeld on Fox News. I think it comes on at 3 AM. I normally don't get to watch it because of that, but last week I was off from school so I was up for it. When that show if funny, it's the funniest show ever. It's a libertarian bent show, and usually has some nice women, though not always smart. Makes fun of the media a lot. Andy Levy is their ombudsman, that guy is SUPER-smart.

Great American, indeed. His performance in Wayne's World 2 was probably the best part of the movie.

Why is the economic slump the end of the world now, but in the 90's when it was worse it was gonna be just fine?

Quote "HOPE", "CHANGE", LEFTIST DISTORTION, AND MASS HYSTERIA

This comment from Glenn Reynolds says it all, doesn't it, about those who are hyping doom and gloom in the economy?

Quote "PINK SLIP NATION:"

Actually, though, the unemployment rate in November 1996, when Clinton rode a soaring economy to victory, was 5.4%. That's right--three tenths of a percent higher than the "grim picture" of a "pink slip nation" painted by this month's unemployment report.

That was different, because back then a man from Hope promised Change.

The Democrats and the left are trying to sweep all of America up into their psychotic delusions; to make everyone believe that everything under Bush is far worse than anything that has ever come before.

They cannot appeal to fact, therefore they must appeal to emotion.

This is how a group psychosis (i.e., mass hysteria) is politically created and sustained--by a deliberate distortion of truth for the purpose of achieving political power. The flames of emotionalism and exaggerated outrage must be constantly fanned; and always, the truth must be hidden.

America, once the shining light of reason and enlightenment for the whole world, is slowly descending into the same psychopathology that has dragged down the culture of the Middle East; but it is not the policies of the Bush Administration that have resulted in such an outcome--it is the logical and inevitable consequence of the nihilism and the totalitarian dreams of the political left.

What matters most to the minions of the political left is not truth, or reality--or even "peace" and "brotherhood" and "justice"; what matteris is how effective is the language used to manipulate others.

Lies, distortions, ad hominem attacks; attempts to silence opposing views--all are strategies that are perfectly satisfactory if they achieve the desired effect. Ideas and reason must make way for reification of feelings; and freedom is replaced by the thought control of the compassionately totalitarian concept of political correctness.

They must have perfection--perfect thoughts, perfect motives, perfect human interactions, perfect peace, perfect war. The market must ALWAYS go up; if it goes down it must be a plot of the evil capitalists; if anything goes wrong in a war it must be because of the incompetence of a Republican Commander-in-Chief; if the economy has its ups and downs, it will be because of inadequate government controls; if humans behave like humans--well, they too must be perfected by the perfect ideology. As I noted the other day, when you are building a perfect utopia, it's necessary to eliminate the undesirables--but it is for the good of all, of course.

So, bring on the economic hysteria! Without it, the left has no hope of achieving power and imposing their utopian fantasies.

Red Eye, on Fox News at 3 AM. It's hilarious, and the most politically incorrect show ever, except maybe South Park.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1qUKAGHCeYI&feature=related - Here is a short taste. Yes, that is Patti Ann Browne, Fox News anchor, who puts Megyn Kelly to shame. I didn't think that was possible. She is somewhat regular on Red Eye, just check her out on some of the other videos. Man, she is out of this world.

Quote
WE'RE WINNING THE WAR ON TERROR
DON'T LET ANYONE TELL YOU OTHERWISE

By GERARD BAKER

Last updated: 3:05 am
June 29, 2008

"My center is giving way. My right is in retreat. Situation excellent. I shall attack!"

If only our political leaders and opinion-formers displayed even a hint of the defiant resilience that carried Marshal Foch to victory at the Battle of the Marne. But these days timorous defeatism is on the march. In Britain setbacks in the Afghan war are greeted as harbingers of inevitable defeat. In America, large swaths of the political class continues to insist Iraq is a lost cause. The consensus in much of the West is that the War on Terror is unwinnable.

And yet the evidence is now overwhelming that on all fronts, despite inevitable losses from time to time, it is we who are advancing and the enemy who is in retreat. The current mood on both sides of the Atlantic, in fact, represents a kind of curious inversion of the great French soldier's dictum: "Success against the Taliban. Enemy giving way in Iraq. Al Qaeda on the run. Situation dire. Let's retreat!"

Since it is remarkable how pervasive this pessimism is, it's worth recapping what has been achieved in the past few years.

Afghanistan has been a signal success. There has been much focus on the latest counter-offensive by the Taliban in the southeast of the country and it would be churlish to minimize the ferocity with which the terrorists are fighting, but it would be much more foolish to understate the scale of the continuing NATO achievement. Establishing a stable government for the whole nation is painstaking work, years in the making. It might never be completed. But that was not the principal objective of the war there.

Until the US-led invasion in 2001, Afghanistan was the cockpit of ascendant Islamist terrorism. Consider the bigger picture. Between 1998 and 2005 there were five big terrorist attacks against Western targets - the bombings of the US embassies in Africa in 1998, the attack on the USS Cole in 2000, 9/11, and the Madrid and London bombings in 2004 and 2005. All owed their success either exclusively or largely to Afghanistan's status as a training and planning base for al Qaeda.

In the past three years there has been no attack on anything like that scale. Al Qaeda has been driven into a state of permanent flight. Its ability to train jihadists has been severely compromised; its financial networks have been ripped apart. Thousands of its activists and enablers have been killed. It's true that Osama bin Laden's forces have been regrouping in the border areas of Pakistan but their ability to orchestrate mass terrorism there is severely attenuated. And there are encouraging signs that Pakistanis are starting to take to the offensive against them.

Next time you hear someone say that the war in Afghanistan is an exercise in futility, ask them this: do they seriously think that if the US and its allies had not ousted the Taliban and sustained an offensive against them for six years that there would have been no more terrorist attacks in the West? What characterised Islamist terrorism before the Afghan war was increasing sophistication, boldness and terrifying efficiency. What has characterized the terrorist attacks in the past few years has been their crudeness, insignificance and a faintly comical ineptitude.

The second great advance in the War on Terror has been in Iraq. There's no need to recapitulate the disasters of the US-led war from the fall of Saddam Hussein in April 2003 to his execution at the end of 2006. We may never fully make up for three and a half lost years of hubris and incompetence but in the last 18 months the change has been startling.

The "surge," despite all the doubts and derision at the time, has been a triumph of US military planning and execution. Political progress was slower in coming but is now evident too. The Iraqi leadership has shown great courage and dispatch in extirpating extremists and a growing willingness even to turn on Shia militias. Basra is more peaceful and safer than it has been since before the British moved in. Despite setbacks such as this week's bombings, the streets of Iraq's cities are calmer and safer than they have been in years. Seventy companies have bid for oil contracts from the Iraqi Government. There are signs of a real political reconciliation that may reach fruition in the election later this year.

The third and perhaps most significant advance of all in the War on Terror is the discrediting of the Islamist creed and its appeal.

This was first of all evident in Iraq, where the head-hacking frenzy of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi and his associates so alienated the majority of Muslims that it gave rise to the so-called Sunni Awakening that enabled the surge to be so effective.

But it has spread way beyond Iraq. As Lawrence Wright described in an important piece in The New Yorker last month, there is growing disgust not just among moderate Muslims but even among other jihadists at the extremism of the terrorists.

Deeply encouraging has been the widespread revulsion in Muslim communities in Europe - especially in Britain after the 7/7 attacks of three years ago. Some of the biggest intelligence breakthroughs in the past few years have been achieved from former al Qaeda supporters who have turned against the movement.

There ought to be no surprise here. It's only their apologists in the Western media who really failed to see the intrinsic evil of Islamists. Those who have had to live with it have never been in much doubt about what it represents. Ask the people of Iran. Or those who fled the horrors of Afghanistan under the Taliban.

This is why we fight. Primarily, of course, to protect ourselves from the immediate threat of terrorist carnage, but also because we know that extending the embrace of a civilization that liberates everyone makes us all safer.

Every death is an unspeakable tragedy. It's right that each time a soldier is killed in action we ask why. Was it really worth it?

The right response to the loss of brave souls such as Corporal Sarah Bryant, the first British woman to die in Afghanistan, is not an immediate call for retreat. It is, first of all, pride; a great, deep conviction that it is on such sacrifice that our own freedoms have always rested. Then, defiance. How foolish is the enemy that it might think our grief is really some prelude to their victory? Finally, confidence. We are prevailing in this struggle. We know it. And everywhere: in Afghanistan, in Iraq, and among Muslims around the world, the enemy knows it too.

From The Times of London.

I'm pretty sure Germany lost both World Wars, famousperson.

Saw this on Brit Hume last night.

Score one for McCain! He's against "equal wages for women." Apparently Obama is for it. He is an egalitarian which is my biggest pet peeve. And know what is weird. McCain pays his women employees higher wages than his men employees. Obama pays his women employees drastically less! Guess he supports it because he can't "control" himself and needs the government to do it for him. I can't believe I'm still voting for Obama.

well...affirmative action is more like reverse-racism to get technical. they aren't racist...that goes against what affirmative action stands for.

that being said, i think that we have found the first thing that we agree on, chrissnow! i don't support affirmative action!

Actually Affirmative Action is so whacky, even some blacks don't qualify. For example blacks who actually are from Africa don't qualify, only Americans. I just found that out recently. Talk about discrimination.

I'm glad we agree on something! Actually, we probably agree on a lot more than you think, I just never bring up those topics. But we probably agree for different reasons though.

This is why I call it racist rather than reverse-racism:
Quote The notion of racial quotas is so obviously an expression of racism that no lengthy discussion is necessary. If a young man is barred from a school or a job because the quota for his particular race has been filled, he is barred by reason of his race. Telling him that those admitted are his “representatives,” is adding insult to injury. To demand such quotas in the name of fighting racial discrimination, is an obscene mockery.

The quota doctrine assumes that all members of a given physiological group are identical and interchangeable—not merely in the eyes of other people, but in their own eyes and minds. Assuming a total merging of the self with the group, the doctrine holds that it makes no difference to a man whether he or his “representative” is admitted to a school, gets a job, or makes a decision.

The inversion of all standards—the propagation of racism as anti-racist, of injustice as just, of immorality as moral, and the reasoning behind it, which is worse than the offenses—is flagrantly evident in the policy of preferential treatment for minorities (i.e., racial quotas) in employment and education.
-Ayn Rand

I know the people who support these programs don't "hate" other races, but in a way they implicitly do.

Quote
July 25, 2008

He ventured forth to bring light to the world

The anointed one's pilgrimage to the Holy Land is a miracle in action - and a blessing to all his faithful followers.

And it came to pass, in the eighth year of the reign of the evil Bush the Younger (The Ignorant), when the whole land from the Arabian desert to the shores of the Great Lakes had been laid barren, that a Child appeared in the wilderness.

The Child was blessed in looks and intellect. Scion of a simple family, offspring of a miraculous union, grandson of a typical white person and an African peasant. And yea, as he grew, the Child walked in the path of righteousness, with only the occasional detour into the odd weed and a little blow.

When he was twelve years old, they found him in the temple in the City of Chicago, arguing the finer points of community organisation with the Prophet Jeremiah and the Elders. And the Elders were astonished at what they heard and said among themselves: “Verily, who is this Child that he opens our hearts and minds to the audacity of hope?”

In the great Battles of Caucus and Primary he smote the conniving Hillary, wife of the deposed King Bill the Priapic and their barbarian hordes of Working Class Whites.

And so it was, in the fullness of time, before the harvest month of the appointed year, the Child ventured forth - for the first time - to bring the light unto all the world.

He travelled fleet of foot and light of camel, with a small retinue that consisted only of his loyal disciples from the tribe of the Media. He ventured first to the land of the Hindu Kush, where the

Taleban had harboured the viper of al-Qaeda in their bosom, raining terror on all the world.

And the Child spake and the tribes of Nato immediately loosed the Caveats that had previously bound them. And in the great battle that ensued the forces of the light were triumphant. For as long as the Child stood with his arms raised aloft, the enemy suffered great blows and the threat of terror was no more.

From there he went forth to Mesopotamia where he was received by the great ruler al-Maliki, and al-Maliki spake unto him and blessed his Sixteen Month Troop Withdrawal Plan even as the imperial warrior Petraeus tried to destroy it.

And lo, in Mesopotamia, a miracle occurred. Even though the Great Surge of Armour that the evil Bush had ordered had been a terrible mistake, a waste of vital military resources and doomed to end in disaster, the Child's very presence suddenly brought forth a great victory for the forces of the light.

And the Persians, who saw all this and were greatly fearful, longed to speak with the Child and saw that the Child was the bringer of peace. At the mention of his name they quickly laid aside their intrigues and beat their uranium swords into civil nuclear energy ploughshares.

From there the Child went up to the city of Jerusalem, and entered through the gate seated on an ass. The crowds of network anchors who had followed him from afar cheered “Hosanna” and waved great palm fronds and strewed them at his feet.

In Jerusalem and in surrounding Palestine, the Child spake to the Hebrews and the Arabs, as the Scripture had foretold. And in an instant, the lion lay down with the lamb, and the Israelites and Ishmaelites ended their long enmity and lived for ever after in peace.

As word spread throughout the land about the Child's wondrous works, peoples from all over flocked to hear him; Hittites and Abbasids; Obamacons and McCainiacs; Cameroonians and Blairites.

And they told of strange and wondrous things that greeted the news of the Child's journey. Around the world, global temperatures began to decline, and the ocean levels fell and the great warming was over.

The Great Prophet Algore of Nobel and Oscar, who many had believed was the anointed one, smiled and told his followers that the Child was the one generations had been waiting for.

And there were other wonderful signs. In the city of the Street at the Wall, spreads on interbank interest rates dropped like manna from Heaven and rates on credit default swaps fell to the ground as dead birds from the almond tree, and the people who had lived in foreclosure were able to borrow again.

Black gold gushed from the ground at prices well below $140 per barrel. In hospitals across the land the sick were cured even though they were uninsured. And all because the Child had pronounced it.

And this is the testimony of one who speaks the truth and bears witness to the truth so that you might believe. And he knows it is the truth for he saw it all on CNN and the BBC and in the pages of The New York Times.

Then the Child ventured forth from Israel and Palestine and stepped onto the shores of the Old Continent. In the land of Queen Angela of Merkel, vast multitudes gathered to hear his voice, and he preached to them at length.

But when he had finished speaking his disciples told him the crowd was hungry, for they had had nothing to eat all the hours they had waited for him.

And so the Child told his disciples to fetch some food but all they had was five loaves and a couple of frankfurters. So he took the bread and the frankfurters and blessed them and told his disciples to feed the multitudes. And when all had eaten their fill, the scraps filled twelve baskets.

Thence he travelled west to Mount Sarkozy. Even the beauteous Princess Carla of the tribe of the Bruni was struck by awe and she was great in love with the Child, but he was tempted not.

On the Seventh Day he walked across the Channel of the Angles to the ancient land of the hooligans. There he was welcomed with open arms by the once great prophet Blair and his successor, Gordon the Leper, and his successor, David the Golden One.

And suddenly, with the men appeared the archangel Gabriel and the whole host of the heavenly choir, ranks of cherubim and seraphim, all praising God and singing: “Yes, We Can.”

1. Can't Control Exhilaration Over 'World Stage' for 'Messiah' Obama

Barack Obama's Magical Media Tour hit its high point Thursday night as the ABC, CBS and NBC evening newscasts all led with Barack Obama's speech in Berlin, with NBC's Brian Williams and Andrea Mitchell the most giddy, though ABC featured a German man who hailed Obama as "my new messiah." ABC and NBC saw Obama on a "world stage." Charles Gibson teased ABC's newscast: "In a city steeped in history, before a massive crowd, the candidate calls on the world to tear down this generation's walls." NBC anchor Brian Williams, in Berlin, trumpeted how "the first ever African-American running as presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party brought throngs of people into the center of Berlin, streaming into this city, surging to get close to him, to hear his message. And when it was all over, he talked to us." Viewers next heard a sycophantic Williams ooze to Obama: "When an American politician comes to Berlin, we've had some iconic utterances in the past. We've had 'ich bin ein.' We've had 'Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall.' Is the phraseology that you would like remembered, 'people of Berlin, people of the world, this is our moment, this is our time'?"

2. Chris Matthews: Obama's Berlin Speech Had 'Thrill Factor'

Barack Obama is still giving Chris Matthews thrills. On Thursday night's Hardball, before throwing to an Obama clip, Matthews gave the following rave review, on his July 24 show, to the Illinois Senator's speech in Germany: "What, what do you make of this? Let's take another bite here because it was quite a speech. You have to judge for yourself but the speech had its thrill factor, certainly once again. Here he was."

3. Amanpour 'Surprised' by Lack of 'Euphoria' After Obama Speech

CNN's chief international correspondent Christiane Amanpour, reporting on Barack Obama's speech in Berlin on Thursday's The Situation Room, expressed her shock that the European crowd didn't seem to have the same mania for the Democrat that the media have: "I did ask some people as they were leaving what they thought. Everybody said good, good. But I was surprised that there wasn't this sort of euphoria afterwards, given how many people had come to listen and how much it had been anticipated." She later stated in the segment that one unnamed political analyst talked about how "people [in Europe] want a political redeemer -- I mean, that's very specific language, and he said it's not really based on facts, the -- what they think about Obama, because they don't really know. It's based on expectations."

4. ABC's Tapper: Obama Thinks He's President; Denies Media Access

Not every reporter covering Barack Obama's world tour is entranced by the words and imagery of the Democratic candidate. On Thursday's Good Morning America, political correspondent Jake Tapper jabbed at Obama's overconfidence, describing the senator's July 24 speech in Berlin as "one the Obama campaign is billing at almost presidential. Even though he is not the President." Reporting from inside the Obama plane, Tapper complained in a snarky tone: "Inside, the plane has been redesigned to separate the senator and his staff from us lowly reporters." He added that Obama officials told journalists that they could brief reporters as anonymous officials. Tapper grumbled: "One of them said that's what we did at the White House during the Clinton years. We pointed out they don't work at the White House." Regarding the Obama plane, the ABC journalist also pointed out: "The American flag on the tail wing has been replaced by an enormous Obama O."

5. ABC's Cynthia McFadden: McCain Like Obama's Younger Brother

On Wednesday, Nightline co-host Cynthia McFadden and correspondent David Wright condescendingly reported on the disparity in the media's coverage of Barack Obama and John McCain. McFadden began a segment on the Arizona Senator by snidely asserting: "Now, if you have a younger sibling, you can probably relate to what Senator John McCain has been going through this week. Whatever he does, everybody seems to be talking about the new kid in town." Expanding on a report he filed for the July 23 World News, Wright, in an almost embarrassed tone, remarked: "Pity the poor Straight Talk Express. While, Barack Obama is off globe-trotting, grabbing all that high profile, high octane attention, we're here on the tarmac in Allentown, Pennsylvania." He also described the media's obsession with Obama in a passive tone, asking McCain: "Do you kind of feel like you're going to be stuck playing defense from now until November?" and stating, "...It seems like the narrative of this campaign is being driven by whatever Senator Obama does and you're left to kind of react to that."

6. Media's Campaign Donations Tilt 100-to-1 in Favor of Democrats

It's not just the thrills racing up and down Chris Matthews' leg. Writing in Thursday's Investor's Business Daily, author William Tate documented that donations from employees of big media companies are tilting 100-to-1 in favor of the Democrats so far this election cycle. That's right, 100-to-1. It's perhaps not a surprise that those working for NBC Universal are the most eager givers to the Democrats, racking up $104,184 in contributions this cycle, compared to just $3,150 to Republican candidates. Maybe more surprising is that those at Fox broadcasting and the Fox News Channel combined to give $41,853 to the Democrats, with no listed donations going to the Republicans. (Only $1,280 was listed as coming from Fox News employees.)

7. Fox Poll: Two-Thirds Recognize Journalists Want Obama to Win

Just days after a Rasmussen Reports survey was released showing more than three times as many likely voters "believe most reporters will try to help Obama with their coverage" than help John McCain, a Fox News/Opinion Dynamics poll taken July 22-23 of 900 registered voters discovered six times as many think "most member of the media" want Obama to win than wish for a McCain victory. On Thursday's Special Report, FNC's Brit Hume relayed: "67 percent of the respondents think most media members want Obama to win. Just 11 percent think most in the media are for McCain." A FoxNews.com article added this damning finding: "Only about 1 in 10 (11 percent) volunteers the belief that the media is neutral on the race to become the 44th President of the United States." Those polled recognize the tilt in action: "When asked to rate the objectivity of media coverage of the campaigns, Americans feel Obama gets more of a positive spin by a better than 7-to-1 margin (46 percent more positive toward Obama; 6 percent more positive toward McCain)."

Over the last few years, we've heard endless comparisons between George Bush and Hitler, but let's face it: Obama has a lot more in common with Hitler than Bush ever did.

Obama is toweringly arrogant, uses messianic, fascistic rhetoric, seems to have ambitions that stretch past his own country to the world, and has legions of mind-numbed zombielike followers doing his bidding and blaming all their problems on convenient scapegoats.

Well, it didn't take long, did it?

Folks, many of us warned you that Barack Obama's past involvements with rabid Marxists and leftist groups were no coincidence or mere juvenile flirtations.

From the new Obama website:

--------------------------------------------------------

    America Serves

"When you choose to serve -- whether it's your nation, your community or simply your neighborhood -- you are connected to that fundamental American ideal that we want life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness not just for ourselves, but for all Americans. That's why it's called the American dream."

The Obama Administration will call on Americans to serve in order to meet the nation’s challenges. President-Elect Obama will expand national service programs like AmeriCorps and Peace Corps and will create a new Classroom Corps to help teachers in underserved schools, as well as a new Health Corps, Clean Energy Corps, and Veterans Corps. Obama will call on citizens of all ages to serve America, by developing a plan to require 50 hours of community service in middle school and high school and 100 hours of community service in college every year. Obama will encourage retiring Americans to serve by improving programs available for individuals over age 55, while at the same time promoting youth programs such as Youth Build and Head Start [emphasis added]

---------------------------------------------------------

As they used to say in the old movie Westerns: "Them's fightin' words."

Note that in his opening pre-Election quotation, Obama described his "service" programs with the words "choose" and "liberty."

But now, in the post-Election fine print, he uses the word "require."

By which he means: "...or else."

The One intends to force us, and our children, to "serve" whatever causes he mandates. On what moral premise?

That the individual belongs to the state.

Mandatory "service" is just another way of saying "involuntary servitude" -- and that is a euphemism for "slavery." An interesting point of view for a man whose race was emancipated by his alleged hero, Abraham Lincoln.

Let me be very clear:

If the incoming Thug-In-Chief thinks he's going to force this boy to join one of his Marxist-modeled citizen "corps," his gang had better come for me heavily armed.

And I suspect I'm not alone in that attitude. It's an attitude most bluntly expressed by the hero of Ayn Rand's novel The Fountainhead in his famous trial speech:

I came here to say that I do not recognize anyone's right to one minute of my life. Nor to any part of my energy. Nor to any achievement of mine. No matter who makes the claim, how large their number or how great their need.

I wished to come here and say that I am a man who does not exist for others.

It had to be said. The world is perishing from an orgy of self-sacrificing.

My father in Law (who is the nicest, least violent man I know) was sentenced to 180 community service when he got into a fight with the man that his wife of 24 years left him (and his 2 kids) for! as you may guess he got the upper hand. He was working a 10 hour night shift, then doing 3 hours community service each day. He's done with it now but it still stays on his record. The best thing is... he actually enjoyed doing the gardens at the old peoples homes!!! how crazy is that!
