What do you think about the Buffy Musical episode "Once More With Feeling"?

Back in the days, when I learned that musical episode is coming up, I thought the idea was ludicrous and prepared for wasted time. However, when I saw it, I was swept off my feet!

I now know most of the songs by heart and and can listen to the soundtrack for hours at a a time.

Does that make me a geek?
If yes, I don't care

I've only ever seen the episode once and I quite enjoyed it .  However, I must get it out and watch it again because most of the cast has put it down as their favourite!

PS  We can be geeks together then Andy!

Yeah that episode is the best!!!! I like know most of the words and *ahem* I'm rather obsessive and got my sister to buy the album.... but WE WILL WALK THROUGH THE FIRE it just rules!! Had me in stitches all the way through! :) Me and my sister also noticed something really symbolic at the end when Buffy comes out of the dark, into the light.  cleverly done!!! *claps and applauds*

Luv 2 all my little buffy mates-  this forum rocks btw!!!!!

I know all the lyrics and lines..

Maybe I´m crazy and possed but I like it...

"I´ve died so many years ago but you can make me feel like it isn´t so/And why you come to be with me I think I finally know....."

Yeah, Spike's song is one of the best!

I love the episode when Buffy just came to his crypt
and he says that he's not affected by singing. Then
his song begins he says: "I died..." and in a the next moment he has that priceless look like "Oh no, here comes
the damn song!".

SPECTACULAR episode! I have a hunch that this topic will heat up considerably in June, when Season 6 comes out on DVD in the States.

Buffy had crossed more than a couple of genres before this episode came out, but going musical was a stroke of genius. Along with "Hush" and "The Body," "Once More With Feeling" shows Joss Whedon's phenomenal talent for tempting the shark without jumping it.

A few of my favorite moments:

1) The hokey musical-style camerawork in Buffy's song, "going through the motions." Buffy sings, "Nothing seems to penetrate my heart" as she impales a vamp, then sings her final aria through the parting "clouds" af a second vampire's disintegrating body.

2) "I have a theory," when Tara does the "Broadway Hands" thing to illustrate Willow's notion that they're all "trapped inside a crazy Broadway nightmare."

3) Tara's censor-defying lyrics in "I'm Under Your Spell," culminating with her assertion (lying flat on her back in bed, looking orgasmic) that she's "lost in ecstacy/spread beneath my Willow-tree"

4) Xander's censor-befuddling lyric (looking salaciously down Anya's body  "warm in the night when I'm right in her tight. . .  *embrace!* Tight embrace."

5) The dancin' demon's line: "I can bring whole cities to ruin/ and still have time to get a soft shoe in!"

6) Giles singing a tender, fatherly hymn to his concern for Buffy while he's throwing knives at her.

7) Tara's disgusted refrain of "I'm Under Your Spell" late in the episode when she realizes that she really *is* a victim of Willow's enchantments.

8) Buffy's last number, when she accuses the demon [and us!] of voyuerism ("life's a show, and and we all play a part. . .it's all right if some things come out wrong/we'll sing a happy song/and [looking dead at the camera] you can sing along") and her friends [and us]of being unwilling to let her go.

my favorite songs are:

Standing- when Giles sings about Buffy
Under your Spell- when tara sings to Willow
Rest in Peace- when Spike sings to Buffy

The song that i don't like is I'll Never Tell.

i went out and bought the soundtrack to it and i listen to it when i walk. i think that it was a really good episode.

I loved it,you guys are cool people,Do you guys always watch buffy cuz i do Buffy is my idol I don't get enough of her, I know that people beat her up because she never had any friends, and she never had any friends because she didn't have time to be with them, she went to Laguardia art school. Her best friends were a ballet person and another friend. seth green knew her ever since he was 9 years old and they played in buffy the vampire slayer together. He's (Oz) off of austin powers movies I think he's hot. Well got to go later.

I can't stop singing the songs in my head. Especially "I'll Never Tell" "I've Got A Theory/Bunnies/Together" "Under Your Spell". Make it stop. Get this demon out of me.

I find "I'll Never Tell" addictive and sing it a lot, I thikn it's funny but also honest. I can't sing "Under Your Spell" just becaues my register can't go that high. lol
