I have a K301 12hp on a Gravely walk-behind that I am partially rebuilding with a new piston, rings, and connecting rod. I measured the crankpin size on the crankshaft it reads 1.4955" and the specs indicate a max wear for the crankpin 1.4990 which means mine is worn .0035 over the max wear limit. New crankpin size is 1.5000/1.4995. From the groups experience, do you think I could get by without regrinding the crankpin or would I setting myself up for problems???? Please those of you with the experience/knowledge give me your recommendations. Thanks. -john silverwingshg@netzero.net

like i posted in the group, it depends on how you plan to use the machine. i would get a new rod and use the crank as is, unless it was knocking badly. if your planning a professional restoration, then i would find a new crank, or grind the old one and get an oversized rod.
