From the 31st July 2007, all enclosed public places (clubs, pubs etc) in England will become smoke free. There will be on the spot fines of £50 for breaking this and establishments will be fined £2500. I'm curious to know if any other countries have experienced this and how it effects them.

I'm actually a non-smoker (well, I quit four years ago.) but it gets me wondering who the government will pick on next! (obese people, drinkers, anything that breaths!)

They passed that here too but are having serious problems with the Native owned lands as they claim they are exempt (Natives pay no tax not even income tax and get free medical and dental plus free tuition on top of their monthly gov't checks) The law also covers the streets in front of public places.
I smoke and I think if they don't want people to smoke stop selling them and enjoying all the taxes they get from them. We pay almost $12.00 a package here.

Taxes in Tennessee are going up! Smoking will be for the rich. Going to school and obtaining a good education will be for everyone!
